Why explore earned revenue

A resilient nonprofit can combine charitable support with carefully governed earned revenue rather than depend on one funding source.

Separate categories

Charitable donations and commercial revenue are different and must be accounted for, communicated and governed accordingly.

Documented relationships

Financial relationships, including related-party relationships, must be disclosed, approved and documented.

Battarbox

OMS2 is exploring Battarbox as a mission-aligned social venture and potential long-term earned-revenue source. Battarbox is separate from the accelerator and is not currently represented as generating revenue for OMS2.

Approval before public claims.

Any OMS2 financial relationship with a social venture will require board review, written agreements, appropriate legal and accounting review, and transparent public disclosure before OMS2 represents any ownership, revenue share, contribution or tax treatment as supporting the nonprofit.
